Definition of Past Indefinite Tense:

Past Indefinite Tense is used to show something that happened in the past or any habit of the past by using the past form of the verb.

 



Structure of Past Indefinite Tense:

  • For POSITIVE Sentences: Subject+Main Verb+Object*subject+2nd Form of Verb+Object.


Examples of Past Indefinite Tense(Simple.S):

  • I wrote an essay on my best teacher.
  • Mr.Ali ate so many fruits.
  • They played hockey on the road.
  • He preferred mango to apple.
  • I went to a party yesterday.
  • She loved to dance at the party.
  • He helped me to do my homework.
  • I went to Dubai with my cousin.
  • We enjoyed the marriage thoroughly.
  • They took part in the concert.

Negative Sentences: (did+not+1st form)

  • I did not write an essay on my best teacher.
  • Ali did not eat so many fruits.
  • They did not play cricket in the street.
  • He did not prefer mango to apple.
  • I did not go to a party yesterday.
  • She did not love to dance.
  • He did not help me to do my homework.
  • I did not go to Dubai with my cousin.
  • We enjoyed the marriage thoroughly.
  • They did not take part in the concert.

Interrogative Sentences: 

  • Did I write an essay on my best teacher?
  • Did Mr.Ali eat so many fruits?
  • Did They play hockey on the road?
